OPPORTUNITY
In order to activate current and prospective customers to the Dish Anywhere app and also capitalize on the ever-competitive March Madness hype, we created a TV All-Star bracket challenge where site visitors attempt to fill out their perfect bracket—only in this bracket, users are trying to guess the most popular TV shows of all time. The bracket challenge winners had a chance to take home up to $10,000 in the sweepstakes.

PROCESS
I began with the bracket’s user experience, thinking through how to best optimize a bracket-style visual that would be fully responsive across multiple devices and not lose its structure. Since we were promoting the DISH Anywhere app through this challenge, it was especially important that the bracket experience work just as seamlessly on mobile as it would on desktop.

After the bracket wireframes had been built across devices, I began to work out the styling and functionality of the jerseys and selection experience with our dev team in an agile series of trials. Once coordination of the user experience was underway, the remaining site was designed and handed off fully to development.

RESULTS
The socially sharable, mobile-responsive site launched with a bang, and in its two weeks of being live, garnered over 500,000 page views and over 161,000 entries.

Survey Says…

Your picks for the best TV Shows go head-to-head in this interactive, responsive bracket face-off.

View, Share & Win

Once the bracket is completed, users can download their picks and share their bracket winner on social media.
