OPPORTUNITY
With all the decisions a bride has to make before her wedding day, I almost caved into the lovely designs on Minted to build my wedding stationery suite. But no matter what I did to personalize them, none of the designs were quite right. I was struggling to customize the details I wanted to customize. Bringing in unique colors and logos was, I can only assume, impossible. (Sorry, Minted.)

PROCESS
That’s when I realized that of all the elements I should take leadership on for my wedding, it’s my own stationery suite. After all, it’s really just building a brand system—which I am plenty comfortable with in my work life. Why should this be any different? So, I went to work establishing my typography system, a custom heart ampersand mark, paper texture elements and my full color palette.

Once my typography/color/iconography/graphic element system was in place, designing all of the other elements became a breeze. Creating the invitation elements, menus, posters, signage, keepsakes, bubble stickers, wax seals, return envelopes, thank-you cards and more would have probably cost me thousands if I had hired another “me”. And I probably wouldn’t have cherished the results nearly as much.

So, of all the decisions that went into my wedding planning, hiring me was one of the best.
